Have you ever lost something that you didn’t even know you had? Yet you are sad and grieve for that loss like it was your greatest treasure? That’s what I’m feeling right now, sad for not knowing it was there, and then for losing it before I even knew I wanted it. But I didn’t really want it, and that makes me even sadder. Because had I known, then I would have wanted and loved it, but I didn’t even have the chance. This is just the moment that I’m in and I know it doesn’t make sense. I can’t even make sense of it really.

OUR PART IS TO BELIEVE GOD.
HIS PART IS TO BE GOD AND
DO WHAT IS ULTIMATELY AND
ETERNALLY BEST.
God, You made the world and everything in it. You are the Lord of heaven and earth,
and You do not live in temples built by hands,
as if You needed anything, because You Yourself give all men life
and breath and everything else.
From one man You made every nation of men,
that they should inhabit the whole earth.
And You determined the times set for them and the exact places where
they should live. You did this so that men would seek You
and perhaps reach out for You and find You,
though You are not far from each one of us.
For in You we live and move and have our being (Acts 17:24-28).
Beth Moore, Praying God’s Word Day by Day
Sunday Scripture 12
Proverbs 16:1 To man belong the plans of the heart, but from the Lord comes the reply of the tongue. 2 All of a man’s ways seem innocent to him, but motives are weighed by the Lord. 3 Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and your plans will succeed.
As Brooke and I head out to the first dance competition of the season, we always pray that she uses her talents to glorify God and witness to others the love of Jesus Christ. I think that’s something we should all strive to do. Have a blessed Sunday.
Lost?
OK, I admit, I love Lost. This season is the best yet, and there are so many twists and turns that I can hardly follow. Did anyone else miss the part where Sayid is working for Ben? Was this in the last few minutes, because my DVR cut it off short and I missed the last part. I don’t know, somehow I missed it and had to discover it on blogdom. Sayid is working for Ben and killing people on some sort of list. He romances a woman and ends up killing her after she shot him. Strangely enough, she was wearing the same bracelet that the now dead Naomi was wearing. Who is R.G.? Is she Naomi’s sister that she referred to with her last breath? And Miles, I don’t think I like him, but I’m not sure yet. I know I don’t trust him.
So many questions, but we do know a few things for certain. Four of the oceanic six are Jack, Kate, Hurley, and Sayid. Who are the other two? Well, we haven’t seen Sun and Jin, but we know she has to leave the island because she’s pregnant. I look for them to be in an upcoming episode soon.
This show has me stumped. I can’t wait for more. And now that the writers strike is over, we will have at least 5 more episodes after the original 8. Part of me just wants it to be over, and on DVD so I can have a marathon viewing of it. What do you think? Are you lost too?
Random thoughts
Tuesday night and Wednesday morning we were pelted with freezing rain and ice, so we had hoped for a 2 hour delay in school, but no such luck. I just have a problem with scraping the ice off of my car, while little pellets of ice hit me in the head, to drive my kids to school. Apparently the school board isn’t as concerned as I am. It wasn’t better at the end of the day picking them up either because it had continued to sleet most of the day. I took a few pictures to share with you, and obviously that didn’t happen.
Yesterday was Valentine’s day. I hope everyone had a great one, and felt totally loved. I fixed a great meal for everyone, and even dessert that was red to match the theme. It was the best meal I’ve made since Thanksgiving, and it was a whole lot less work. That made it even better! It was pork tenderloin and roasted veggies, angel food cake with strawberries, glaze and whipped topping. Again, I took pictures to post, and it hasn’t happened.
Today Brian and Brooke are together on a ski trip (a school field trip). This was one event that I passed on to Dad to do, as I really didn’t want to be in traction for the next 6 weeks! Field trips sure have changed since I was a kid!
I talked to Brian earlier and they both still had all bones intact. He was on the lift watching Brooke go down. I’m sad sitting here knowing that I’m missing such a big event with her! I took a picture this morning, and sent the camera with instructions for them to take lots, LOTS of pictures. (Do you see a theme here with pictures? I’m starting to think I should change the title of this post to something like, ” I took pictures but didn’t post them!) Well, I can just imagine her and all her friends laughing ang having a blast together. She deserves it too. I’ve been a little worried about her. She’s been complaining of a headache and stomachache a lot lately, and I’ve been trying to get out of her what’s bothering her. The typical pre-teen, she likes to keep things to herself. She told me that she’s being bullied by someone at school, someone who we’ve had problems with in the past. It hurts me to think about the pain she’s felt, and kept it to herself because she knew I would call the school to try and fix it, but then she would be a tattletale. Brian and I both talked to her, and yesterday she nicely asked the girl to stop. We’ll see what happens next. I’m praying about it.
That’s about all the random thoughts I have for now. Maybe I’ll post some pictures soon….

I’m excited to announce The Ultimate Blog Party, and welcome you to join in on the fun and prizes. Jump on over to 5 Minutes for Mom to read all about it, and then check back here during that week. Mark it on your calendars girls, because you’re invited to my party! If you stop by my blog and leave me a comment, I’ll stop by yours and comment too. How’s that for selfless plugs? Hmmm…

WE ARE WISE TO REMIND ONE ANOTHER
NEVER TO FORGET WHO
WE ARE AND NEVER TO
FORGET WHO WE’RE NOT.
Father, Your Word says You will break down stubborn pride and make the sky above the proud like iron and the ground beneath him like bronze (Lev. 26:19).
Lor, Your Word is drawing a vivid picture of the arrogant life. Prayers lifted to heaven will seem to hit a ceiling of iron, and life beneath the feet will be hard.
Help me to be humble before You, Lord, because the life of the proud will eventually and undoubtedly become very hard.
My Savior and Redeemer, help me to take Your yoke upon Me and learn from You, for You are gentle and humble in heart, and I will find rest for my soul (Matthew 11:29).
From Beth Moore, Praying God’s Word Day by Day
Sunday Scripture 11
Psalm 8:1-9
O Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth!
You have set your glory above the heavens.
From the lips of children and infants you have ordained praise
because of your enemies, to silence the foe and the avenger.
When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers,
the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, what is man that you are mindful of him,
the son of man that you care for him?
You made him a little lower than the heavenly beings
and crowned him with glory and honor.
You made him ruler over the works of your hands;
you put everything under his feet:
all flocks and herds, and the beasts of the field,
the birds of the air, and the fish of the sea,
all that swim the paths of the seas.
O Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth!
90 Day Bible Reading-Psalms 1-25
The book of Psalms covers many different emotions and prayers over a thousand year period. God is worthy of praise and the wise will trust Him. Some key verses include.. Ps. 8:1 “how majestic is your name in all the earth!” Ps. 19:1 “The heavens declare the glory of God.” and one that most people know is Ps. 23:1-6 The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not be in want. He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he restores my soul. He guides me in paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
