The Shack

OK, i told you guys about a phenomenal book a little while ago.  I just gave you a few spoilers, and now I’m gonna give you the inside scoop.  The Shack, written by William P. Young, is an absolute must read!  You will come away from it a different person, and with lots of questions about life.  Not really questions, but I found myself comparing things from my daily life to things in the book.  Oh, and you won’t be able to put the book down.  It is that good.

I was earmarking pages because I knew I would want to go back and re-read certain things.  When the first part of the book was all turned back, I just got out the trusty highlighter and started marking it up!  I want everyone I know to read this book, but they can’t use my copy!

Here comes the scoop, are you ready?  Ok, it’s really just the back of the book cover, but it’s that exciting.
Mackenzie Allen Philips’s youngest daughter, Missy, has been abducted during a family vacation and evidence that she may have been brutally murdered is found in an abandoned shack deep in the Oregon wilderness.  Four years later, in the midst of his Great Sadness, Mack receives a suspicious note, apparently from God, inviting him back to that shack for a weekend.

Against his better judgment he arives at the shack on a wintry afternoon and walks back into his darkest nightmare.  What he finds there will change Mack’s world forever.

In a world where religion seems to grow increasingly irrelevant, The Shack wrestles with the timeless question: Where is God in a world so filled with unspeakable pain?  The answers Mack gets will astound you and perhaps transform you as much as it did him.  You’ll want everyone you know to read this book!

See, I told you!  Go out and get this book.  Then come back here and let’s have a discussion about it!
